I love to sketch in Manchester's Castlefield! If you are not familiar with it, it's an area of industrial heritage with canals, massive iron bridges for road, rail and tram with barges both renovated and beautiful and old, battered and fascinating. Wherever you look there's something of interest whether weathered and worn or new and restored. Here's a beautifully restored warehouse which is now a pub and luckily the barge in front stayed there long enough for me to draw it before it floated off!
Sketched on location with pen, watercolour, fine liners and gel pens on a pre-prepared background in my concertina sketchbook.
