This piece was made on a very cold weekend in Bristol with sketching friends in March 2022. I sketch on location perched on my little stool on the pavement or when fingers get too cold from the comfort of a cafe with a good view! I draw in pen and then add watercolour, collage and use a variety of other pens and finish off with rubber stamped lettering. Look closely and you'll find all sorts of odds and ends including teabag strings and the a layer from a box of chocolates...
The sketchbook I use is a 'concertina sketchbook' which is a seemingly endless sheet of paper folded to make a book so I can keep sketching as much as I like. This is a great way to work but difficult for making prints so I have two different print styles. available.
The item you are looking at now is the whole weekends sketch made to fit on standard A sized papers which gives a large border at the top and bottom, they are available as prints only or framed.
